San Bernabe- Week 9

Regios is the word for the people of Monterrey, not Montorreans (re-he-ohs in gringo). Ya, I take out money every once in a while, usually when I have to pay some bill before the next quincena gets here. Quincena is a Spanish word that means money received about every 15 days. I'm not sure how that would be in English.
Where was M, Peru or Ecuador, or something like that? I've heard that people in Peru eat a lot of rice and potatoes and drink everything warm. That was from an ex-missionary in one of my areas.
And well, in response to your question, I heard a little bit about the Perpetual Education Fund once, because there was this poor family with a daughter that wanted to study and she got accepted, and they started giving her money to study, but she ended up just giving it to her mom to buy food instead. So no more of that for her. That is actually really sad, and I'm not sure I should have told you.
Hey! I think I remember that English homework that Maddie was doing, Who is her teacher going to be? Who were her teachers last year? We didn't have any repeats, did we? Are there any this year? I'm sorry for being so questioning. ummmm..... I hope your "new little people" are good and that you can start having an awesome year with them.
And I'm so excited to go to New Zealand next summer. I'm sure that will be super cool. But don't worry, it will be cool having two kids in college. I don't know, I was trying to say something positive and uplifting. But really, it will be cool, because most kids here never go to college. For example, the way you and dad both went to college- there are very, very, very, very, very few people here that have two parents who went to college. American education is way better, because we don't have to wear dopey uniforms or carry a bunch of unnecessary and pointless books back and forth, and the teachers give thought provoking homework rather than having to copy down pages and pages of text. And apart from that, they have to pay for all of it. It is the worst thing ever, I'm fairly certain that I've talked about the many flaws of the Mexican education system before, but I would like to reiterate these points at this time.
This week was pretty cool, we made a list on Thursday of 31 people whose names were on random sticky notes in the house or in the area book as people who had talked to missionaries before, and we started visiting them, and we found a few people to teach like that. One lady that was fairly annoyed that we showed up the first time and told us that she wanted to be Catholic forever and ever, but last night told us all about her life, for an hour and a half until 9:30 at night. She told us all about her abusive ex-husband and the problems that she had with her kids and her ex-partner man that she was living with the last time she talked to missionaries. And so, due to our listening and long-suffering, we have an investigator! Also this Sunday, I got to participate in church more, because the gospel principles teacher didn't show up. So I got to teach all of the people about faith, and then we gave a missionary themed capacitation the third hour, and last week they asked me to give a talk, because somebody wasn't gong to show up, so I feel more at home, like in my branch. I like branches more and want to live in a branch someday. Or we have the investigator DJ that always asks us if we want to be bishops, and the next time he asks I'll tell him that I don't want to be a bishop, I want to be a branch president. Just Kidding! By the way, DJ broke his ankle, because he fell into a swimming pool without water while he was drunk, so maybe he will accept the lord humbling him. But that's about all I have right now.
I feel like I wrote a lot, but it might be pure spume. Not super sure. I hope you all have great weeks. Oh and are we related to Newel Knight, because I was reading the institute manual, and it says the first miracle of the church was Joseph Smith casting a demon out of him, so that would be cool. But anyway... I love you guys. Bye!
