Getting Along Well- Estanzuela- Week 2

All of your Disneyland stuff sounds super awesome, and I'm excited to go when I get back. I am in a branch here, again. But this branch is bigger, and we go to a really nice church building, so I'm not complaining. It is the area right by the temple, so that is the church we go to. But our area is across the big freeway from the temple and up the mountain. It is a pretty cool area, but it is weird because we spend a ton of time out working in the poorer parts of the area, and then when we show up for church, there are always a ton of super rich people and they all have iPads and half of them speak English, and it is weird to see the super rich and the super poor so close to each other. Even though I haven't seen any problems with all of that yet, I'm sure we will, so I'll keep you posted. Just kidding. But ya, everything is cool here. I am really getting along well with Elder Slater, and I'm going to try to send some pictures to you right now with this email.

So I hope that worked. The first one is when they announced that Elder Slater and I would be companions, and the second one is a picture of Elder Slater with President and Sister Swapp. So I hope you enjoy those. I have a few more, but I don't have my camera with me right now, so you will have to forgive me. But ya, he is learning Spanish, so he relies on me a lot and I end up teaching a lot of the lessons, so it can be a lot more stressful. I also have to figure out what we are going to do all day. I mean we plan together, and I ask him what he thinks we should do and all that stuff, but I am still in charge of what we do and most of the time I have to make the decision, so it is a lot more stressful, because we don't want to waste time, and he is all super excited to do some awesome missionary work, and I'm trying to do the best I can to not make him feel like we aren't really doing anything like I felt with my trainer sometimes. But honestly, everything is going pretty well, and I feel like I am really learning and understanding a lot more. And I have really had to rely on the Spirit a lot more. For example, a couple of times this week, I just had to stop what I was saying in the middle of my sentence and think and listen to the Spirit instead of just running with what I was saying in the moment. Which was a little uncomfortable, but it ended up being pretty cool. Don't worry. Let's see, what else happened? Elder Slater got super sick on Thursday, and we didn't even leave the house. He was throwing up all day and stuff like that. We figure it was because we ate campechanas the night before which I have never gotten sick from, but apparently it happens, but they are so delicious that even he admits that he will probably be eating more before too long. (I googled campechanas and learned that the term refers to either a seafood cocktail that includes oysters and octopus or a flaky pastry that is filled with fruit. I am assuming that he is eating the sweet pastry and not the seafood.) So ya, I think that is just about everything. I am feeling a little overwhelmed and all, but I'm learning more and more so I guess that is what it is all about, huh? I hope you guys keep having fun and doing fun things and planning fun things for us to all do when I get home in 17 months or whatever it is. But this whole mission thing isn't so bad, and you learn quite a bit, so I guess I'll just hang out here for a little while longer. That sentence made heavy use of understatement if you are wondering. So be not alarmed; neither be thou dismayed, because I, thy son, shall keep doing this good missionary stuff until the end of my days. That was a rough adaptation of Joshua 1:9 or something like that. I can't remember exactly, because I try to stay as far away from the Old Testament as I can, because that thing is just full of apostasy. But I'm just kidding, And I love you guys a lot!!!! BYE!!!!!!
