That is all very funny in your letter, especially all that stuff about Maddie. I don't think I was really that drugged or anything. I don't remember doing or saying anything weird. And I was going to tell dad Happy Father's Day, because I don't know if it is Father's Day there or just here, but I guess if you end up talking to him sometime you can tell him Happy Father's Day for me.
And this week the two other elders spoke, so that was okay. I'm still not a fan of the random speaking time, and I think I really learned all of that (working hard and doing what needs to be done) here in the mission. It really is crazy, because I'm here, and I can teach all of these classes, and everyone just depends on the elders for everything here. We seriously end up doing everything for them, and I end up doing most of it, partly just because of the time I've been out. The next oldest elder has 8 months in the mission, and partly because I've learned that it is really important to help other people by doing stuff like this. Like some people whine a lot and don't want to do all of the things that the members want us to do, but I figure that somebody has to do them, and we, being representatives of Jesus Christ, better go out and do them. Because there are a lot of missionaries that focus on the fact that we are representatives of Jesus Christ and want the glory and honor that comes with that. They want people to treat them the way they think Jesus would be treated. But they seem to forget that Jesus was always serving, and very rarely being served, More than being honored, he was despised, and he suffered everything. He, the greatest of all, descend below everything to help us, and we, as missionaries, being set apart as representatives of Christ, and we as members, having made the baptismal covenant to take his name upon us, have the responsibility to try to do that too. And as Elder Oaks said talking about the priesthood in this last general conference, We need to focus more on our responsibilities and a little less on our rights. He said it cooler and used a cool Alexandr Solzhenitsyn quote. But ya, that is just a little something I've learned. Something about really being Christlike. I don't normally write stuff like that, but there- even tried to paraphrase a few scriptures. But ya, anyway......
This week was kind of sad, because they took away our texting. We had the ability to text for about a month, but then a bunch of missionaries are too dumb to use good things correctly, so it got taken away. I seriously was pretty mad about that, because I was getting to see more and more the way that technology can help missionary work, but then there are dumb people that just mess it up, and I was thinking we would get Facebook someday, but if we can't handle text messaging, we will never able to handle Facebook. Forget about it! So this week everything was just a little harder to spread around, and I would always send out big texts before events, activities, and the church services. But now there shall be none of that! But hopefully I can forgive all the other missionaries someday.
Apart from that, this week was kind of slow, because it was super hot and nobody leaves their houses and at some points people actually asked us why we were walking around when it was so hot. Apart from that, the World Cup has started, and everybody and their grandma is watching that. So just little obstacles that we've got to get over. But that's it, because this looks like a really long letter. So, I hope you like it, and I hope you have another fun week of summer. I love you all. BYE!!!!!!
