Okay, well. This was a pretty good week. Because we found quite a few less active priesthood holders that were getting pretty excited to come to church again. And that is about exactly what the little branch needs, so that is happy stuff. And I have more pictures to send you this week, so just sit tight for a second.
Okay, so, the other elders in these pictures are Elder Gomez, my companion. and Elder Montoya, who was in the pictures from last week and is a missionary; he just forgot his gafete the last time I was taking pictures. And then there is Elder Coello, who wasn't here last week, but is here now. And since you are all so observant, you will notice that my name tag or gafete, as I called it earlier- Spanish, sorry- is on my tie. That's just because I couldn't find my pocket one when we left the house, so I used this one. Don't worry. Also this backpack is what I call my pday bag. I will write you more in just a second.
First, off I'm remembering that in your letter to me, you told me to tell you if I needed you to send me stuff, and I think I'm going to need a purple tie. Because I had this really awesome purple tie that a companion gave me that everybody loved, and it was my favorite tie ever, and then the other day we were walking an investigator kid home from an activity, and he asked if I would give it to him. I said maybe, and then at church the next day, we found him a white shirt in the church building, and I give him my purple tie to wear to church. It was cool, because he got super happy and excited. But now I don't have any cool purple ties. Just kidding. I'm not angry about it or anything. I am just saying that if you are looking for things to send me- a purple tie would be cool. Because I have one, but it is like light purple and brown, and this one was a dark purple with a darker purple that was almost black, and I feel like I have written the word purple 800 times in this email, but I'll move on now.
These last few days have been busy. Due to the changes of the other elders, we had to work in their area for a few days, and in our area too, so it was a ton of work. Then on Sunday I had to talk. They told me last minute, like at 10:15, right before we actually started the meeting that should have started at 10, and somehow I managed to talk for 15 minutes to finish up the sacrament meeting. Then right after that I taught a gospel principles class. Tomorrow I am going to give a "district capacitation" with my companion, and then on Wednesday, we are going to have English classes, and family history activity, so we can go to the temple someday, but everyone is expecting me to teach the two classes at the same time, so we will see how that works out.
And thanks for all of that news. It's really interesting to see that kind of stuff. But I'm sure that everybody is super angry about that whole Taliban thing. I thought we didn't do stuff like that, negotiating with terrorists and all. And that picture of Elder Olson, or Brandon, I guess, that was funny. I called him that without thinking about it. It is really funny. Huge white guy with this teeny tiny little black man (I sent him a picture of his friend who is serving in Mozambique, who is 6'7" and has a companion that can't be 5'). But I'm sure it would be fun. Not really, I'm so glad I'm not in Africa right now. Because I really love Hidalgo!!! Its the best, and I'm totally going to have a house here when I'm old and right, because the land here is super cheap, and it would be super easy to get an enormous house built. Then everything here is just really relaxed and old men still sit on porches and get super drunk and all that stuff like from the good old days. So maybe someday I'll invite you all to my quinta! But ya, I think that's about all I've got to say for the week, so I am going to say goodbye! I love you all so much and hope you have an awesome week playing pianos and getting drugged up (Maddie is getting her wisdom teeth out this week) and enjoying summer. Tell dad not to get tazed anymore (Lane had training where they all took turns getting tazed). BYE!!!!
