My Little Backwoodsy Bookndocky Pueblo- Hidalgo- Week 2

The first part of this post is from Mason's letter where he cut, pasted and answered questions that I asked him in my letter. Here they are:
*Where is Elder Cluff from? Arizona What is he like? Really cool Send us some pictures of him and you together (See Below)
*How far away are your district/zone leaders? DL- about a half hour, and ZLs- about an hour. Are you kind of on your own out there? Yes, we are totally alone out here.
*If there are only like 10 people in the branch, do you eat at people's houses still, or do you fix your own food? We have to fix our own food most days.
*You said it is rural (I love the goat part from your last letter), but are there still stores, restaurants, etc? Yes, there is a bodega which is owned by Walmart, and it sells everything we need.
*Is Hidalgo-Sabinas different that where you are? I think it is different. If you type in Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, you should find it. It is by a mountain called Potrero Chico Why are there so many places called Hidalgo???? Because Miguel Hidalgo was some Catholic priest that had something to do with the start of some Mexican revolution, so everybody loves him.
*Is your chapel in Hidalgo or do you have to travel like you did while in Real de Palmas?  We have a small rented house of prayer here in Hidalgo. It is actually the closest that I have ever lived to a church building, giving the members no excuse when they don't go.
*Is it deserty or green/mountainy? Deserty, very deserty
*Has it been hot already? Yes
*As always, who are you teaching and how is it going? Lots of people, well, I'm just kidding. I'll probably write more about that.
*What have you learned this week, or what experiences have you had that made you happy? Cool story, Saturday we showed this member a super awesome magic trick as a visual about how baptism or taking the sacrament removes your sins. I don't want to tell you too much about it, because I'm contemplating making a video and sending it to you all. But the example stayed with her, because she bore her testimony about how she woke up that morning and didn't want to go but then she remembered how if she didn't go she would still be all dirty with sins, so she was motivated to go, and it was super awesome that she went. And that made me really happy, even though we walked a ton all over this little pueblito.
*Is it hard to not be the senior companion after you have been for a long time, or since you are both so experienced, do you just work as partners? We are technically both Sr companions, so it is actually really fun, because neither of us are super interested in power or anything, so we just get a long really well and do everything together. We share all the responsibilities, and we just work as partners. There are things he does better, and things I do better, so we just work together and do everything super awesomely.

I'm going to send some pictures now!
These are pictures that Sister Swapp took of me and other missionaries when we went to the temple last Wednesday. And the other one is of Elder Cluff.

,

Okay, so yesterday, we had 20 people in church. We still fell short of our 25 person goal, but it will be okay. We also showed an investigator a Thomas S Monson talk, so we will have to see how that works out, but it was super cool, because we have the best church ever, because we can show people things that the profet said, even if they weren't able to get there themselves. That is something cool, because we also met this super super christian guy, who we will have to wait and see what's up with, because he has family members that are members, a brother-in-law that is a bishop, but he goes to this other church, but is impressed by our organization. It is really cool, because we can see how much he loves the gospel, and we hope that he will listen to us more and be receptive, because if he isn't then it would be sad, because he can still be pretty awesome, but he could never reach his true awesome potential (I really wanted to make a word for that like awesotential, but I'm not sure it really works) without the RESTORED gospel. So, its a good thing that we have it, so we can love it and love all the good stuff and not have to sort out all the apostasy. But ya, That was basically my week. Not really, but it was a really busy week. A lot of hard work. And well, I'm having fun out here in the little backwoodsy boondocky pueblo, so we will see how it all works out, because I think I'm going to be here for a looooooooooong time! That is it for this week. I hope you all have a good week, and I shall have you all in my prayers. I love you all. Bye!
