Earmuffs for 20 Pesos- Estanzuela- Week 7

I saw a newspaper on Friday that said that the Ravens beat the Steelers 22-20 on Thanksgiving and that did make me really happy, but then sad, because I'm sure it would have been super awesome to watch, but it is okay. That story about the oranges was kind of cool, and I have heard a lot about the Pathway Program. Also, I am still in the same area with Elder Slater, but that picture (See bottom of this post for pictures that were taken by Hermana Sanchez and posted on Facebook) was taken because we went to a city wide conference where the area president planched everybody about everything. And my shoes are holding up okay, and I have actually been gifted 2 jackets that are really warm, so I am going to be okay. And I can see what I can do about the picture. But I'm going to send this email right now because I'm writing a little earlier, and I didn't receive promised emails from Dad or Maddie, so they have 25 minutes until I'm out of here!!!!
But ya, I can probably get that picture to you next Monday. I'm going to assume you want it in a suit. But this conference thing was really cool. It was for ward councils from six or seven different stakes here in Monterrey. So I got to see alllll of the missionaries and a lot of people from Real de Palmas y La Fama. It was really cool, and he did yell at people a lot, but we learned a lot of things that we can do better. Like now we aren't ever allowed to leave a house without sharing a gospel principle and receiving a reference. Those are our two rules. And it has actually worked pretty well, because it makes us more persistent about asking for references and then the members help us more. So maybe someday the missionaries there will be meaner and more persistent about asking for references, too.
But apart from that super fun conference and get together. Everything has been normal. Thanksgiving isn't even a thing here, so I hardly noticed it pass, and there are a lot of Christmas trees and things like that. Elder Slater even bought a little one for like 40 pesos (about $3.00), so we have a Christmas tree in our house. And there is going to be some kind of fun mission activity for Christmas, but we haven't heard anything about that yet. and then here are just a lot more tamales, so life is good. It has even been a little warmer these last few days. But I did just buy a pair of earmuffs for 20 pesos (About $1.50) for when the cold comes back.
This week we had a really cool lesson where a guy had a doubt about the Book of Mormon (super rare that people just tell you they have a doubt. Usually you just have to find when they don't do what they say they are going to do.) But he had a doubt, and we told him about the Book of Mormon, and how it is more scripture and the way that it came about through the restoration of the gospel. And then we taught him about how he can pray to know it was true. We haven't been able to see him again yet, but it was just a really cool lesson where we focused on him and his needs and on the way he can receive an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. or Holy Spirit, as it is called here. And it was just a really good lesson. Like they could have filmed it and put it on the District Three. But don't worry, I boast not of myself and all that stuff, see Alma 26, I think.
So ya. that is about everything. I hope everything is going well with you guys (Every once in a while I could use a little more detail on what's up with all of you.) and Also I'm sorry if  I changed the time I normally write at, but Elder Slater likes writing earlier, so probably the safest thing to do would be to write on Sunday night if it is possible. Or early Monday morning, but I have to hold him back anytime after noon. But I love all of you and hope that you are all doing awesome. I will talk to all of your happy faces again in like 3 weeks when it is Christmas. So just have yourself a merry little Christmas season. (Its the only time of year the Virgin Mary floods the streets of America.) I love you all. Talk to you next week!!!
