(Letter)
Dear Family,
Last night we had a devotional and the speaker was Gerald Lund, who I guess wrote The Work and The Glory and a ton of other books. He talked about revelation. It was really helpful to all of us because we all really wanted to know about revelation. I wrote it down as a Conference question, and when looked at (my notes) later, I didn't think that there was a ton of stuff on revelation. Then we hear this hour long talk on revelation, and it was awesome. One of the main and most interesting things that he talked about was false revelation. He talked about "Hormonal Revelation" where you confuse emotional desires with true promptings of the spirit. He also talked about how evil spirits can whisper things to you, too. He told a story of some Scottish missionaries receiving a prompting to go down this alley full of drunk people. They got jumped, and it was bad. So, I guess we all need to really think about what the revelation is telling us to do and whether or not we actually have authority or stewardship to receive revelation for other people.
Guess what else I got to do! On Wednesday we do service out the main building and this time we got to hang up flags. We got to choose 32 flags and we hung them up on all these cool poles that you can see from the road. I also think that it is cool that all of the new missionaries coming in get to see all of the flags. Last week we got to clean the water fountains.
That's basically all I have to tell you. I love you guys and I hope that you are all having fun and doing good things. Plus I hope you can read my handwriting because everyone here says it's messy! I think I only have something like 640 days left so I'll see you then. (Someone told me that. I'm not counting the days- don't worry!)
