Sabinas Hidalgo- Week 2

Letter from November 10, 2014

We are going to have stake conference, too!!!!!!! But we are going to watch it from here instead of taking a 2 hour bus ride.
It is safe here in Sabinas Hidalgo. It is pretty big, like 30,000 people, so I don't think it is classified as a pueblito, but a real city. But it is still really relaxed. For example, yesterday at 8 the streets were just dead, nobody out and about, and I think that is very different from all of my other areas. But it is calm, and I think drug cartels aren't that big of a danger to missionaries. I think the most dangerous things is drunk people, and here there don't seem to be as many drunk people.
From what I understand, you are correct, the church administration books say no food, so it is the apostasy that has led to "crackergate," but I suppose it is the president's fault for not cracking down on the crackers earlier. He let the sinful apostasy grow, instead of nipping it in the bud. I think that how the phrase goes, but I haven't used it in a year and a half, so forgive me if I'm wrong, (This whole part refers to a situation that my parents had in their New Zealand branch that was all about crackers in church and hurt feelings.)
And this is interesting news about the stake presidency. That is cool that President Parker is going to be a mission president. And I'm not at all sure what a Lt. Governor is, but good for President Hutchison. And that is so weird that Steve and Alissa had a baby. Like I don't feel like that much time has gone by that I've been out of my house that they could get married and have a baby and all that, but I guess I have been out here for almost 20 months. That is weird. And don't worry I won't take a nap during Christmas talking time. (I dreamed that he told me that he would rather take a nap than have a Skype phone call!) That's about all I have for you right now. I gave a talk yesterday, it was awesome. I talk now without writing talks or notes or anything- here at least. I hope you all have a great week, I love all of you!!!
