I Killed a Snake- La Fama- Week 9

Well, I'm going to give you a fun little update on the J's dad story. Later that week, A called Elder Thompson, one of the other missionaries in the ward and one of the zone leaders. A told him to come to his house alone Saturday at 5. So Saturday, we did divisions and went over there- Elder Thompson and I. Basically we were warned by him against the evil spirit that my companion had and told that we were not welcome in that house again. Well I am, but Elder Diaz isn't. But we are working on it, and he might let us come back after he says some prayer so that he can forgive my companion and properly protects his house.
That is good news about those friends of mine going on a mission, and that is crazy that Lily got her ears pierced, and the best news of all is that Tina Fey won an Emmy. Just kidding. And it is great that your class is getting better and that you like listening to conference talks. I'm excited for the next General Confrence, too, and it is going to be great. We had stake confrence this week. (Fun fact, the stake president is a gringo.) It was all about The Family, A Proclamation For the World. I really liked it and was really excited about it, because stake conferences are important and stuff like that. Another super cool thing is that we had a really cool family of investigators there. They are the family C, and the mom and 4 kids went this week to stake confrence. The dad is a truck driver and has to work a lot, so he didn't have a chance to go with them, but the wife said she was going to go home and tell him all about it. They are super cool. They have a date to get baptized the 20th of October. (Did I tell you that people here have to go to church 5 times to get baptized? That is new; it used to be 2.) They are super interested in everything and are already reading parts of the Book of Mormon, and we have used it to answer some of their questions, so they like the Book of Mormon, and that is the best thing ever.
Lets see, what else is going on? Today we had a district activity, and we ate in a mall, and we walked around and saw all of the things that we were missing and really missed the United States. Last night we found a snake in the church, and I killed it. We had a training meeting for all the members to learn to be missionaries and afterwards we were cleaning up, and we found the thing, and we chased it outside, and my companion through a ceiling tile at it and hurt it, and then I stepped on it. It wasn't very big, but the experience was pretty action packed. (If you think we are bad, it tried to bite Elder Thompson, and my comp said it was venomous, and we didn't want it to eat primary children, so there.)
About the rain, nothing really happened. Apart from the streets, nothing really gets affected by the rain, and everything just drains down into the old dry river, so nothing too bad here. But I guess it got really bad a few years ago. So if any really big hurrincane comes, like hurricane Alex, which is the one everybody talks about, I guess it can cause a ton of problems, but Ingrid didn't do anything.
I dont know, I'm thinking of things I should ask you about, but now I don't have any idea what is going on there. But today in the mall we saw that hipsters had taken over the world, because the Levis ads had this man with a huge beard, and we decided that hipsters are really just trying to be like pioneers. So maybe you could let me know about stuff like that if you get bored, because it might be fun. Just tell me what's going on a little bit. Unless you think that is bad, then don't. But I think it would be fun if you threw me a little bit of that stuff.
I don't have any pictures this week, because I didn't take any. And now I have no more things to say. Sorry if I'm getting boring or anything, but I've seen some of the things that the missionaries from this ward write to their families, and it is super boring, so you should all be grateful to have such an amazing son or brother or whatever I am to the individual reader of this letter. Oh, I thought of something else, I haven't used my personal debit card yet in my mission, but I might use it this week, because I'm running a little low on cash, and I just thought I would let you know, because they told us to tell our families, so that the banks don't freak out when people in Mexico use the card or something. So who knows what that is all about, but I'm going to try not to take out any money, but if I do, I warned you, so don't say I didn't. I hope all of the stuff I'm saying jokingly comes across, and you don't think I'm a tapón (which is basically what we call jerks here). So that is all. I love you guys and hope that everything is going well and that you can keep doing good things and having fun, and I hope you all get excited for this General Conference. (Which just reminded me of the last General Confrence in which they announced the new Ceder City temple, which we should go to when it gets dedicated.) But yeah, that is all the time we've got, and I already ran out of things to say, so I guess I will see you next week. I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love, Mason
