My District and My Schedule

(Letter)
Hi Family,
It's Monday night, and I just got your letter that you wrote on Friday night. I still haven't gotten the camera card or the card reader or anything. Maybe they just mail more slowly. I put a letter to Grandma and Grandpa (Brown) in the same envelope thanking them for sending me cookies. I know I just sent you a couple of emails today; I like to write. I am going to tell you about my district. My companion is Elder Day. He played football and baseball and loves BYU. He is from Fillmore and is confident in his abilities. The other companionship in our room is Elder Harrington and Elder Callen. Elder Callen is from Idaho and Elder Harrington is from Washington. They are good guys. In the other room there are four more guys from our district. One of them is Elder Scheibler, and he is from Indiana. His companion is Elder Fullmer, and he is from Magna, Utah. Then there is Elder Dalrymple from West Bountiful He is pretty fun to be around. His companion is Elder Jensen and he is from Salina. He is really smart. In all of our companionships, we have one person that is more outgoing and another that is more introverted. That is probably for the best as far as productivity goes. I told you we're all going to Monterrey West, right? I guess it is weird for that to happen, and also we don't have any hermanas in our district and that is weird too. We saw a map the other day of the new Monterrey West Mission, and I guess that it is a lot smaller. It doesn't cover very much of Coahuila, and apparently it will depend on what my first area is on which mission I end up in for the rest of the time.
(It is Tuesday night now, and I just got a letter that you wrote on Monday.) I'm going to go ahead and write my schedule for tomorrow. We wake up at 6:30. 6:35-7:50 Service Assignment. 7:50-8:20 Prepare for Next Activity. 8:20-8:50 Breakfast. 8:50-11:50 Teaching Resource Center and Classroom Instruction. 11:55-1:00 PM Personal Study Time. 1:00 Lunch. 1:45-2:55 Language Study. 2:55-3:55 TALL (It's a computer program that teaches Spanish.) 4:00-4:30 Daily Planning 4:40-5:30 Gym Time. 5:30-6:00 Prepare for Next Activity. 6:00 Dinner. 6:30-9:30 Classroom Instruction. During this last classtime we will teach our investigator Luis. He lives in Argentina. Then after that we come home and have an hour of time to read/write letters and write in our journal.
Today we just got back from choir practice. We had a Tuesday night devotional with a member of the Quorum of the Seventy, Elder Corbridge. It was good. Then we practiced a song based on Psalms 23. We are going to sing it this Sacrament meeting on Easter. I guess there will be a General Authority there, but we don't know who. I realized today that you guys won't get this letter until you get home from Coronado. So I might just go ahead and keep adding on to this letter for a few more days. Today in the choir I sat in the first row right next to the piano player lady, and I thought she was going to make fun of me for my crappy singing but she didn't.
I just got the package full of candy that you sent. Thank you very much. I especially like the little photo book. I'm sorry you guys aren't getting my letters but you kind of left the mailbox for a whole week! Also, and I don't want to offend you, but you are sending me a ton of packages. I love them, but it might make the other Elders sad if I get so many more packages than they do. Today is Wednesday, and we all felt cool because we weren't the new missionaries anymore. Everybody is always talking about how fast the time here flies, and it does seem like a short time we've been here. I'm mailing this letter to you on Thursday morning, so it should be there for you when you get home. I still haven't gotten those Amazon packages, but I did get the gummy worms (Thanks). I love you guys, and I want you to know that I'm having a good time, and I hope you had a good vacation.
Love, Elder Parkes

Note to Grandparents,
Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
Thank you for sending me those cookies. My roommates and I all really enjoyed them. It was very nice to get them. I would also like to thank you for all of the times you took me to the temple. I really enjoyed our trips. Thank you for being such great grandparents. I love you guys!
Love, Elder Parkes
