Here are some pictures. My companion turned 20 on Sunday, and some people gave us cake, And then I have more sunrise pictures. I think they are so cool. I love our view. It is the best view I've ever had in my whole life, and I like to go out on to our little balcony all the time.
Okay, First off and most importantly, to answer your question, the parents do some times call their kids papi or mami and stuff like that. It is weird, but husbands also sometimes call their wives "daughter," and wives call their husbands "father", and sometimes husbands refer to their wives as their vieja, or their old lady. It's funny the way they talk.
Also, I was thinking about it this week as something that I was going to have to tell you, You know Sofia Vergara, from Modern Family? She is from the same city in Colombia that my companion is from. Shakira, too, When my companion talks in English, he sounds like her, a lot. It is very funny. I can't remember if I told you that last week. If I did, then just forget about it.
But now, for what is really the most important, the phone call. I think I will try to talk at 8:00 here time, so that way Dad can get home, and we will be talking, That is my solution to the problem, but like you said, if it doesn't work out, we can just talk in 10 weeks. Just kidding, but if there needs to be any change of plans, I will let you know Thursday morning. My comp will be talking at 11 o'clock here time, so I will let you know. We still don't really know where we will be talking, The members are slightly less than helpful, but very good missionary workers. It's a weird trade off. In a branch, they want to help us with stuff like this. In Sabinas, the branch president was talking to us about this about a month before, and here I only have been here 2 weeks, and I'm not really sure what's going on, and nobody is really lending a hand. Since there are plenty of well off members here, we will have no problem.
Why do you say my area is scary. It looks pretty inner city, but it is probably one of the safest areas I've been in. I have a few pictures that my comp is going to send me that I will talk more about. One, we had a baptism on Friday, her name is Z. She has been investigating the church for a long time and had a lot of problems, but this week she got baptized, so it was weird, because I haven't been here for a lot of the teaching, but it was cool.
Sunday, we had a ward mission activity, in which we went out to hand out muffins and hot chocolate in the street. I was worried that all of the members were going to be sad, because everybody just said that they were going to Mass in the Catholic Church, 7:00 at night, the Sunday before Christmas is a busy time for the Catholic Church here. But they all had a really great time, and we have a ton of new names to visit now. So that is super cool. There is another picture of the whole ward that went, Hopefully, my comp will send me that, too. So I will send you another email. Hopefully with pictures later!!
