(This is a picture I found on Facebook)
That is cool about the formal. And not to toot my own horn, but this Saturday we helped a family more 7000 kilograms of cement mix. It was really hard, and I decided that being a construction worker in Mexico would be the worst thing ever, so we should all stay in school. But Anyway. I worked hard so you should be proud of me. (I'm just kidding, just in case I didn't make it clear enough.)
We do have senior missionaries here, and I'm not really sure what they do, but I'm sure they do a lot of stuff and I'm sure they do speak in church frequently so Grandma and Grandpa should be ready to do that. But the only time I really see them is at the temple, I think, so maybe they will spend a lot of time helping out there. I have no idea.
No, I didn't cry at the end of our phone call at Christmas. I'm just better adjusted then everyone else, because you guys are better parents. (Or I don't miss you guys as much, because you are worse parents.) I don't know which one it is. (It's the first one). I don't know why, but I don't ever feel really homesick. Everything is good out here. I'm really enjoying the food now, and the weather isn't soo different I feel like, and sure there are a bunch of people speaking Spanish all the time, but sometimes I just talk to myself in English, and it feels just fine.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to come home to watch that Andy Samburg show, and Parks and Rec, too. Its been a good almost 10 months or 300 days from what you told me, but I guess I've got to go watch that show now. I'm just kidding, but I'm sure it will be awesome when I get home to watch it.
Sooooo, I don't really know what else to write..... I'm just kidding, just relax! This week we did some cool stuff. We contacted a lot of people, and we taught some cool lessons. This week we took some kids out with us a few times, and that was pretty great. And this other time we went out with this lady who doesn't even live in our branch, but her daughter-in-law lives in the house that they used to live in, and they came and visited them as we ate with them, and I know that that probably doesn't make any sense, but after the food the 4 of us missionaries split up, and me and the new zone leader here, Elder Hernandez, went with this lady that hasn't lived in this neighborhood for like 15 years and contacted all of her old neighbors. It was really awesome, because the people were way more receptive, and the member totally helped and was super awesome. Then another cool thing is that we had a stake conference yesterday. It was for all of the stakes in Northern Mexico, and it was super cool, because one of the guys from the presidency of the quorum of the 70 and D. Todd Christopherson from the Quorum of the 12 spoke in Spanish. Like they speak Spanish really well, l and we didn't have to listen to dumb translator voices. Wooo Hooooo!! And another cool thing is that they spoke about missionary work, retention of new converts, and reactivation of less active members. And I don't know if those are the most important things that you have going on up there in the USA, too, but I imagine that yes. Me imagino que si. I don't know what to say in English any more. I imagine so, I think so, I'll bet so. There it is!! But anyway. Those three things are super important. So I invite you to do them. Go find a family that you want to baptize. Or go find a recently baptized family, and be their best friend. Or go find a less active family and get them back to church. Or do all three, or just pick two. I don't know, but I know that these are good things to do and that it will really help the ward out. So you should ask the missionaries who they are working with as far as investigators or less active members go or who they have baptized recently and go work with them a little bit. Because I know that you guys are busy, but not busy enough that you couldn't take an hour once a week to visit somebody with the missionaries, right? So I hope you can do that. Because then you will be the most awesome family ever. (I know that you already are, but this will make it a little more official.) And you guys should do the park nights again. Those were awesome and great missionary opportunities, if you make them that. So I don't know, I'm just somebody way down here in Mexico, but I think it would be a good idea. But you guys are super awesome, and I super look forward to hearing about your missionary success and all that. (Did you ever give that one girl, Lily's friend's family, to the missionaries as a reference or just take them to church a little. I know it might seem weird to do it, but if they listen to the missionaries, it will be super cool and if they don't, nothing bad will happen. But people need to be invited to do things to do them. Like if you just wait for them to ask to learn more about the restored gospel of Jesucristo, they are never going to do it.)
I love you guys a lot, and I'm going to send you a picture of me in front of these big naked statue fountain people in the macroplaza next week, so you guys just get pumped for that, ok? Have a great week. LOVE YOU ALLLL. BYEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
