Hi Mom and rest of family,
The street is Duque de Gandia, but is sounds like Ghandi, so I said that. And I guess Real de Palmas is a really really big colony and a pretty big area for us to have. My companion always wants bikes, but I think they would cause more problems than save time. And it is good to hear about your Jewish ladies. You can do missionary work too. I hope Gregory likes his MTC stay, because the more I look back, the more I realize how awesome the MTC was. I think I actually learned a lot in the MTC, and that I speak Spanish pretty well, but it is still going to take a ton of practice to get to the point where I can use it to preach and teach and communicate as well as I could in English.
I kind of have some stories for you! We went to the temple today, and last night we went and stayed with these other missionaries, so we didn't have to travel as far today. It was fun, because it was Elder Sheibler from the MTC that we stayed with, and today we all got to see Elder Day too. He was doing well, but we are all really in the same boat. The Monterrey temple is really cool. It is the most beautiful temple I've been to. Sorry to Las Vegas and Provo, but it was really awesome. It was all in Spanish, and that was really kind of hard to follow, but I understood most of it. It was like going to the temple for the first time all over again. Afterwards we got to go back to the mission president's house, because he had all these contacts from another mission to give us. After that, Sister Swapp took us to Costco! She needed to buy some stuff, and it was Elder Sheibler and his companion and my companion and I. And the Costco was the same as it was in the USA. It almost made me more emotional and nostalgic and all that stuff than the phone call home. It was just really cool. So the next time you go to Costco, just realize that there are Mexican versions of you doing the same thing. Just kidding, that isn't the point I wanted to make, but it is a point. I love you guys, and I miss you, but I'm glad I'm out here. So don't worry about me, and don't miss me too much because I'll see you all in two years, and it will be great. I hope you all like your more individual emails too. Make sure you check them. Especially Maddie, its important. JK, but really check them.
And now to mom. I forgot to tell you Happy Mother's Day or anything like that, so I would like to tell you now. Happy Mother's Day! And I am grateful for all of the things that you taught me. We saw a picture of the 2000 Stripling Warriors earlier today, and I was just reminded of it, because I am so awesome (jk). But if I am so awesome, it's because of my mom. You and Dad both taught me many awesome things that are helping me on my mission, so I want to thank you as I say goodbye on this fine Wednesday afternoon. I love you guys, and you should all stay golden, Ponyfamily. (Sorry, because that was probably even lamer than I thought it was.)
Love,
Elder Parkes
